Holiday Shopping & news

Well, it's all arranged! Next week Dandy and Maggie will move to their new home in Delaware. They'll be with a fantastic family there and be very active in a outreach program helping all kinds of children. While it's a good decision, it still hard to let them go.

Brandy (Dandy's daughter) went to live with a lovely family in New Hampshire last month. She is doing wonderfully and everyone is very proud of her, especially her new Momma, Kathy. We could not be more happy about placing Brandy with her!

Meanwhile, we're busy with placements in Massachusetts. An older pony has a new home waiting on Martha's Vineyard! We placed 2 more ponies with our local small animal veterinarian in Groton in October as well!

Another pony named Bear is coming here to our farm to have her next foal. She should be here sometimes next week, here's a photo:
Isn't she pretty?

Meanwhile, our Volunteer program wrapped up 2 weeks ago for the winter. As a special treat, Kaitlyn took Maggie trick or treating through the neighborhood. Maggie used her "step up" trick to get up on a couple of porches for door-bell ringing. I think she shocked quite a few people when they opened their front doors to find a pony on their doorstep! Maggie got just as many treats as Kaitlyn did and everyone was mighty tired after that night out!

Holiday shopping has started! Please buy books from our website! We're running this children's book campaign which generously gives 20% of each book purchased to Personal Ponies of Massachusetts. There are hundreds of books to choose from and it's a perfect holiday gift for the young readers in your family.

Wishing you all a wonderful, happy and safe holiday season,

Everyone at Haberlin's Hope Farm, Personal Ponies!

Fine Day for a Parade!

Happy 350th Birthday to GROTON MASSACHUSETTS!

This past Saturday, a pair of ponies and a handful of volunteers took to the streets of Groton to march in the town parade. From front to back, left to right we have: Matt Soloman, Megan Krueger, Gineane Haberlin, Kaitlyn Dearth, Mackenzie Zahara and Paula Weinberg. Oh, and who could forget, Greystone Lady Margaret is walking with Kaitlyn on the left next to Bette Davis Eyes walking with Mackenzie on the right. Each pony wore a birthday hat and one of our purple fundraising wristbands. As a special treat, each was given a brand new neon halter with matching lead. What a polished bunch we were! Half way through the parade, Mackenzie and Kaitlyn switched places with our two young volunteers and you should have seen the smiles on Matt and Megan's face as they led the ponies the final 1/2 mile! We were also treated to a visit by our National Director and Personal Ponies founder Marianne Alexander, her husband Wade and their dog Dolly. We all had a great time and by the end of the evening, everyone was quite tired indeed! Paula and I handed out well over 100 flyers and brochures about our program. The best part of the day? Just prior to us leaving to start the parade route, we happened upon 5 differently able children from the Seven Hills Foundation which is also in Groton. Bette marched right up and loved those children. You should have seen their eyes light up!

On an aside . .

We are happy to have Rainie, mom of the infamous Petoot coming to live here with us this fall! John Henry's young owner couldn't part with him, and who could blame her?

I also think we'll be marching in the Groton 350th Birthday Parade on September 10th! More details to follow . . .
